I assume you have RAID 1 (mirroring). If so, then simply turning off RAID in the Intel RAID BIOS (Ctrl-i) should work. I think the option is "reset disks to non-RAID".
How could I get to the Intel RAID BIOS? With the PC on, I can only get to the "Intel(R) Matrix Storage Console" and see both RAID hard drives, but there is no option to resent disks / turn off RAID. Please kindly guide further. Thank you.

During boot, watch your screen carefully. When prompted, press the key combination given (usually CTRL-i) to enter the RAID BIOS.
