Can not open shortcut attachments
Hi We have an Outlook 2000 Exchange server with Emailxtender 4.7 and loaded the xtender client we are able to archive a user and shortcut their mail - all is fine with users able to read their mail BUT are not able to view the attachments - the message reads
This message is archived and shortcutted and cannot currently be retrieved.- (Short cuts are not available when Outlook is off -line
If using Cache mode try resynchronising)
This is also a problem when an attachment is a txt file which rules out getting stopped by our virus email checker tried cache and non cache mode
Any help Please

Additionally if shortcuts are working on other clients, try disabling Cached Exchange mode in the mapi profile on that client and see if that makes a difference. If the client is only failing w/Cached mode enabled that might be an interesting clue.

Started work with EMC support - might have narrowed the problem down to when you do a Emailxtender search on the Outlook client and select the discover extender server - it fails - this even when you are able to ping the server and add the FQ name of the xtender server.
In the OTG EVENT log it tells MAPI Authentication failed

A common piece that get's overlooked is the COM Add-In that must be installed on the Outlook client. You can also install the EX Search Plugin. In earlier versions of EX there was no requirement for client software to resolve the shortcuts.
