Hi Miguel,

        some other suggestion can be:

- follow the KnowledgeBase Article 000450663 that explain why we cannot use the special character | ? \ : / , . '    but probably this is not your case

- after you had issue the password check it by clicking on the eye in the row of the password field this should be show you the password in clear text

- you can try to change the root password via SSH and retry

- check the network settings expecially the host name that in the YAST2 configuration is requested two time and must be the same (check the /etc/hosts file). Sometime also the use of the back option on the YAST2 utility after setting up the NIC can affect.

- do another clean install

Miguel,

I've faced this issue last week. It all points to setting the root password too simple as in without numbers or special characters.

Redeploy the vm and set the root password to something containing at least 8 characters, and within those 8 characters have at least one number and one special character.

Please let us know if that solves your issue.

Hi,

Please check your network setting, especially the entries in the /etc/hosts file. Some parameters during the network configuration can cause duplicate or wrong entries in the hosts files, which in turn can cause the error you are observing. If all seems in order, please open a SR to have support assist you.

To assure the root password is not the issue you could set it something very simple like "password"- If you do this on the console passwd will warn you that this is a bad password but accept it.

Regards

Frank

It was the special character ".,".

I discard this because i was able to login at console.

Weird!

I change the password with "passwd" command and start the deployment inmediately.

Many thanks to all!

With Ptty I was able to SSH into console with Root and change the password to one not containing special character I had initially used.  Once root had new password I was able to proceed with my setup of ESRS VE Gateway version 3.36 and configure the intial Admin password.
