Upgrade path to follow
AutoStart 5.2.x => AutoStart 5.3 => AutoStart 5.3.x
Whether they can directly upgrade it?

Hi,Joel
It is actually possible.
5.2SP2 --> 5.3SP3
5.2SP3 --> 5.3SP3
I tested many times and was possible.
I know this step is described in the manual.
However, do you know the reason to install Ver5.3.0?
Do you know any grounds?

100x,
There are two different options available. The options depend on your target version of software. You may choose to upgrade to 5.3 SP3 or to 5.3 SP4.
To upgrade to 5.3 SP3, the path is 5.2.2 -> 5.3.0 -> 5.3 SP3.
To upgrade to 5.3 SP4, the path is 5.2.2 -> 5.3 SP4.
In 5.3 SP4, we added support for directly upgrading versions 5.2.0 and higher.
Cheers!

Youhinobu Ito,
Direct upgrading is not tested nor supported by EMC in 5.3 SP3. I'm glad to hear that you have had positive results with this, but I would not recommend this to all potential users because it is unsupported. The tested and supported steps are to upgrade from 5.2.x -> 5.3.0 -> 5.3 SP3.
In 5.3 SP4, we added support for direct upgrades of 5.2.0 and higher systems.
Cheers!

Hi,Joel
I understand it.
To our customer, I recommend the next procedure.
5.2.x ---> Export ---> Uninstall ---> 5.3.x Install ---> Import
I think that this method is the clean upgrade.
