The error you are referencing is for the SQL Server 2000 module and this module was not included in AutoStart 5.3 SP1. Was this an upgraded environment from AutoStart 5.2.x? Were only some of the nodes upgraded and a few were fresh 5.3 SP1 installations? Did this environment ever work? if so, what changed?

The exit status error message indicates that the system cannot find the file specified as per windows helpmsg:
