Replication Manager with SRDF

Can I use Replication manager to do an SRDF failover when the production is down/unavailable?

Hello Ernest,

i think that you must have the Replication Manager / Remote to do the SRDF failover.

Replication Manager / Remote is a tool for configuring, maintaining, monitoring and managing replication processes.

You can do the following:

Configuring many types of replications based on Timefinder, SRDF, SRDF/A and/or SRDF/DM applications

Full and incremental synchronization with full and incremental restore

Multi BCV support for generating multiple point-in-timecopies

Perfom replications spanning multiple volumes andmultiple Symmetrix Systems

Utilize TimeFinder Consistetn Split for generating a disaster restart environment

Perform SRDF FAILOVER, FAILBACK, SUSPEND/Resume operations

And some others operations that i don't have the time to mention now.

Hi Ernest,

Replication Manager, does not support failing over SRDF. With respect to SRDF Replication Manager has a very limited capability, which includes taking timefinder snaps/clones of R1/R2 devices.
