Replication Manager and VNX Snapshot support with VMFS?

Does Replication Manager support VNX Snapshots (newly introduced with Release 32) and VMware VMFS LUNs?

I am reading through the Replication Manager 5.4.3 Product Guide and on page 92 I am seeing references to support for the VNX Snapshot feature, although I suppose this might just be shorthand for "SnapView."  In any case, it's unclear to me.  Here is what is said on page 92:

"VNX storage array (including VNX Snapshot support, ..."

"Source: ... VNX LUNs, VNX Snapshots,..."

Does this mean VNX Snapshots are now supported by Replication Manager, or is this simply a mistake in the wording of the Product Guide?

You are correct to verify.

RM does not support Advanced Snaps.

Traditional snapview snaps are fine though.

As Scot stated RM doesn't support VNX Snapshots. However, AppSync supports it.

Take a look at the AppSync User and Admin guides for more details.

Does AppSync support snapping VMFS LUNs and presenting to VMware ESXi 5.1 hosts?

The advanced snaps offered by the VNX are NOT currently in the roadmap for RM.

I cannot say if this will ever change in the future, but for what I know, AppSync is the way to go for VNX Advaced snaps.

Thank you.  I will look into AppSync in more detail.  Is it correct for me to assume that EMC has no plans to support the new VNX Snapshot (Inyo Release 32) in Replication Manager in the future?  In other words EMC wants customers to transition to AppSync in order to leverage VNX Snapshots going forward?
