Rebuilding a Target server, will I need to re-synch all?
I have a RepliStor 6.1.2 server being used as a target server by 10 of my remote offices. I need to format and re-install the OS on the target server, (currently windows 2000 SP4), so that I can perform volume shadow copies. I have 3 data drives E, F, and G that currently contain over 2TB of replicated data, I am not going to format these.
My Question: If I format the C drive and re-install with Windows 2003 server and I use the same name and IP, when the source servers synchronize will I need to re-replicate the whole 2TB+ data or will an incremental synch work?
Remember I am not formatting the data drives and the specifications will already be configured on the (10) source servers to point to those unchanged data drives.
Thanks

There is absolutely no reason whjy you wouldn't be able to do an incremental sync. From my experience it will take quite a while, but at least you will not have unnecessary traffic on the link.

You can take this approach in 2 ways:
1. You can disable the Spec's on your Source boxex during the rebuild. After RS is installed again on the Target, simply Enable them and perform an Inc Sync. This will send only the changes to the Target that have occurred since your start of the rebuild.
2. You can leave the Spec's enabled and have RepliStor queue up the changes on the Sources. The Target site will simply become Blocked during your upgrade. After the Target is rebuilt and RS is installed, it will un-Block it and send cached data to the newly built Target.
NOTE: You may want to di this when there is as little I/O on your Sources as possible. If not, then you will want to ensure your DataDirectory is on a disk with a decent size in the event you need to do a lot of caching.
