Data sources mirroring

Hi, all,

I'm using AutoStart 5.3 SP3.

I want to ask two questions:

1. If my two servers(Windows 2003 SP2 R2) have different numbers of processors, could I do the data source mirroring? The type is "EMC Mirroring for Windows"

One have 4 32-bit Inter Processors

The other have 2 32-bit Inter Processors

2. After the configure as "Configuring the nodes for EMC Mirroring for Windows" in the AdminGuide.

I come to the next step, creating New Data Source,  but on the new panel, I found there is in the Source Drive selection. and there is no nodelist in the Target Node selection.

After check, I found out that, AutoStart Transport Service couldn't be started on one server, is this is the reason?

Hi,

Were you able to solve it, because time had passed considerably?

1.Even if CPU is different, mirror datasource can be made.

2.Is the Verification Line correctly set?

Is Remote Mirror Host correctly set?

If various logs are not confirmed, it doesn't understand.

The phenomenon that Transport service cannot start is very rare.

Hello EnvisionPlus,

1. Yoshinobu Ito is correct that the number or speed of CPU will not affect the creation of the EMC Mirroring for Windows data source.  It is not supported when trying to mirror to a different type of CPU architecture.  For example, it is not supported to have a Source with an x86 processor and a target x64 processor.

2. The EMC AutoStart Transport Service needs to be running in order to create a new EMC Mirroring for Windows data source.  Are there any errors in the EMC AutoStart Transport Service log "%FT_DIR%\log\data_source_types\LgtoTrace.log"?
