Data Source on Linux

Does it matter to AutoStart as what is the source of the volume that has been chosen as data source? If it is iSCSI connectivity with a Clariion on Linux, AutoStart should be able to use it as Data Source?

It is Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 with iSCSI disk from EMC Clariion using ext3 file system and a shared storage. So, Data Source would be ext3 type shared storage.
