Autostart 5.2 running with RAID 1?
Hi
We're trying to install Autostart 5.2.0 on win2003 sever (servers are in a workgroup), but the servers have two hard disks set-up with RAID 1. Then the disk is divided into two partitions.
The second partition is then used for the mirroring, is this supported? (We can only find RAID 5 mentioned in the release notes). What we see is that we get "element not found" on the second node after a server restart.
Then after a "restart mirror" we are able to attach the disk to node two again, but after another restart of the servers we get the "element not found" again.
The data source can always be attached to node one, but with a warning when node two cannot attach to the data source.
When the error occurs Windows display a "delayed write failed" and the Win system event a "backbone warning".
Any idea?

So you can create the mirror set without problems and do the inital sync, and everything is ok until the first server restart?
Also, triple check the name resolving, it can cause all kind of weird behavior if not set up properly.

Thanks for the reply. We added another RAID 1 (two new hard disks) and made the disk sync with this data source. At the same time we upgraded to V5.2.1 and since then we have not seen the problem...
I'm not sure the problem was solved by the RAID or by the upgrade, but now it seems to work so we are happy
