HWC8010 and UEFI0116 errors on boot - New Precision 7960
I get the following error message when booting up my new R7960 rack mount server. When I open it up and take a look, everything looks to be sitting correctly in position. A serial card was installed into one of the machine's PCIe slots. We have 6 identical servers, which my team installed serial cards into, and this is the only one having boot issues.
The error codes are:
HWC8010: The System Configuration Check operation resulted in the following issue: Config Error: Riser 1
HWC8010: The System Configuration Check operation resulted in the following issue: Config Missing: CPU 2.
HWC8010: The System Configuration Check operation resulted in the following issue: Config Error: Right Riser cable connected to PLANAR_SL7
UEFI0116: One or more boot drivers have reported issue(s). Check the Driver health menu in boot manager for details.
I'm seeking feedback on if this is a hardware issue or if it may be a driver issue? I don't fully understand the error messages.

This was resolved by a technician coming and replacing the server's motherboard.

First, you need to reinstall RISER 1 on your server and check that the RISER3 cable is connected correctly!
Then check how many processors your server has, if there is only one, you need to adjust the position of your serial card, only installed a CPU server can only use PCIE SLOT1,SLOT2,SLOT3! If there are still errors, refer to the link below!

Thanks for your reply! There is only one CPU. The serial card was plugged into R2A slot, which is powered by CPU1. After removing the serial card and refitting the risers, the errors still appear on boot. It looks like all cables, etc. are connected and sitting well.

Hello,
Are you using only slot 3 on riser R2A?
Slot3=CPU1, Slot6=CPU2
Did you see any socket damage on the riser connection on system board or slots on the riser?
You indicated this is brand new. Have you tried contacting support directly under your warranty and an engineer can work directly with you?

@DELL-Charles R
Thanks for pointing this out, we have used slot 6, as the other slots are unavailable. The serial card has been removed now though. I cannot see any damage to the sockets.
I have just submitted a service request through Tech Direct - I had been waiting for approval to join from my organisation.
