HDD Toshiba AL14SEB120N are not recognized as SED compatible drives on H730P Mini

Hi,

I want to replace 8 disks (ST900MM0026 - 900GB) with SED encryption enabled of a RAID5 volume, by another model (AL14SEB120N - 1.2TB) to expand the volume size and speed on my R630 server.
From TOSHIBA these disks are SED capable, but after replacing the first one, the Security status shows "Not Capable" in iDRAC8. The detected model is "AL14EL12CLAR120".

The PERC controller firmware version is 25.5.9.0001 / driver 6.604.06.00.

I switched the hard-drive to non-RAID and then tried to update the HDD Firmware downloaded from DELL, but an error states that no compatible hardware was found.

Is there a way to use these 8 TOSHIBA disks without disabling security on the RAID volume?

As I would like to avoid downtime, is it worth upgrading the PERC firmware to solve the issue?

Thank you.

Hello thanks for choosing Dell and welcome to our community.
What you presented is a model name/number. We need the "part" number. Can you get back to us with that?

Hello, I don't recognize that this is a Dell part. I am sorry, but there isn't much we can help when there are 3rd party part components involved as it was not tested by Dell.
