DES-6322 Simulator

Hi all,

can someone provide more information on how to use the simulator during an exam? I had an exam last week and failed because on simulator had only a 50% success rate. In following video was nothing explained about using "Submit" button and that's the reason I made a mistake during an exam.

Player | Dell Technologies (emc.com)

Can someone please provide detailed usage of that simulator so I can prevent future mistakes.

Thanks

Hi @Al3x73

Thanks ask us about our certifications and as you mentioned, after you take actions on the simulator, please click submit. Then your answer will be submitted to the exam.

Depends on the quiz, some simulators does not contain operation quiz but also only check some values from the simulator. (.e.g, size of memory, IP addresses and etc.) In the case you don't have to click the submit. (There is no the button on the bottom.)

Hope your pass on next challenge!!

Your progress in the simulator is actually submitted and scored whether you click the Submit button or not. You do not lose points for forgetting to click the Submit button. When you finish the task you can either click the Submit button and continue, or simply continue to the next question.

To get a successful score, make sure you complete the task fully. Some questions may not have obvious solutions and require that you. Be careful for typos as well. For example, misentering a password or name may cause an incorrect score.

the score will be calculated depending on entries you put or if there something wrong in the question then everything will be considered wrong?

I too failed the exam on Part 2 having Passed Part 1! During the exam for one of the questions it asks to get the version of the Plug-In. When I clicked on the Simulator I got a 404 Not Found error and I could not get into the VxRail console to find the answer. I ran out of time and Failed. I will try again in 2 weeks from now but I am in fear of that simulator.

I will be re sitting the exam next week. Does anyone know if you are allowed to copy and paste entries from the question being asked into the simulator, such as say a password or host name? This would save time and be more accurate.

I believe that the exam uses a secured browser that disables any copy/pasting unfortunately. So you have to type carefully on the simulator. However, password fields in the simulator will show you the letters you type instead of masking it, so at least its a bit easier to check if you have entered it correctly.

Well I managed a score of 80% in Part 1 but only 50% in Part 2 (Simulator) today so overall I failed again. That Simulator is awful in my opinion. On one of the questions I got a spinney wheel and was not presented with the final step of Applying the Configuration after selecting the Validation button. So I guess I lost crucial marks there. So frustrated after so much work!!!

i had the exact same issue, but 3 of the 6 simulations are recorded ones and the other 3 are multiple choice.

is there a way to ask DELL education services to reverify those recorded labs to better assess the final score since i believe i passed this test!

so i wanted to ask also since it's a recurrent thing failing with 50% on the simulator part, is it graded based on the steps you take to fulfill a simulation task or one typo mistake, for example, will be considered as a completely false answer?!

The simulator does not track the exact path you take. It is graded based on the final state of the configuration.

For example, let's say you have a sim question where you have to create a User account with certain settings. Even if you create a user, delete it, create it again, edit it to fix some typos, you will still get a correct score as long as if all the settings are correct at the end. However, if you make a typo and do not correct it, it will be marked wrong (just like in a real system, mistyping a password or hostname will result in things not working properly)
