M110 and M115HD file sort order

Hi,

I've recenty bought M115HD projector, with internal multimedia player. I connected USB drive to it with photos named 01.jpg, 02.jpg, 03.jpg and so on. I was expected that internal multimedia browser will sort files using filenames, but files are listed in randomly order. I cannot quess what sort criteria this browser uses, and if there any possibility to change it. I want to show my pictures in specified order not random.

Anyone can help me to figure out how should I write files to USB drive to see them in specified order on internal multimedia browser file list?

Had the same problem when I tried changing my pptx file into jpg. (For some reason some graphics in pptx could not be shown by the Office Viewer, and changing to pdf solve some but not all...)

My "solution" is:

Assemble your jpgs into a single pdf file. Be sure you arrange the jpgs in the proper order. Acrobat tends to arrange in alphabetical order, i.e 1, 11,12,13 ...  so your 2, is after 19, 3 is after 29. Just move those up to their proper place. Then assemble in a single pdf file. Use the Office Viewer to present.

Hope this work out for you.

I asked Dell support to explain this issue. They confirmed problem even with latest firmware applied. The only working solution they gave me was: delete all images from pendrive folder, open two Windows explorer window, one with pictures which I want to copy to pendrive, second with pendrive folder. Go to window with images, select all files using control+A shortcut, then copy them into clipboard using control+C, then switch to pendrive folder window using Alt+Tab, and paste copied images using control+V. This saves image files onto pendrive one by one with the same order. Indeed it works, but if you want to add for example one file in the middle of your images, you have to move all files from pendrive to local drive, sort them, then copy back all files to pendrive again. Enveloping image files with PDF or Powerpoint documents works, but this is not what I expected to do everytime when I want to show for example images from my holidays. Who want to show own pictures from holiday in random order? Moreover, I don't know if documents with a few hundred of pictures will M115HD will able to read and show. Interesting, that movies and documents order are not random. They are sorted alphabetical. Question is why images are not? I suppose that programmers were afraid about sorting time or memory consumption needed to sort hundred of image files versus movie files. Usually users have less movie or document files, than images from digital camera for example. Well, I hope that Dell will release firmware with alphabetical images order in future. But seriously I don't believe this, because when I asked support if they can create some bug or change request to developers team, they told me that they have no possibility to do this. So it sounds like - we support what we sold. If our products have some disadvantages, then sorry, we cannot change it, even if this is possible.
