AV Installation on a budget

I work at a university in the UK where money for AV isn't an issue - so my go-to solution for things like AV switching or video-over-cat6 is Extron. Extron comes at a price, though.

I've been tasked with developing an AV solution for my local church, and the budget is significantly smaller than I'd normally put towards a project like this. I think it's still achievable, with compromises. One of the main challenges is installing the hardware in such a way that it can be upgraded and functionality added in the future. With that in mind, I've got a few questions...this is all stuff that I've just not come across before so whilst I'm researching options it'd be good to hear other people's thoughts.

Does the project require a Project Manager, design and technical team? If so then they will be able to work with you and around the AV budget you have. Contact the Reflex team to discuss as there are many additional aspects to consider than the following listed below.

Do you have an estimated budget that you have in mind or given? A good tip is to create independently two options, option one will be the essential option and option two will be the nice to have. Make a list for both options taking into account the tips below.
