7700HD, power surge during firmware update

Hi,

i have a Dell 7700HD projector whose wireless firmware I was upgrading when suddenly a power surge caused the UPS to malfunction and go off. Now after a reboot of the device, there is no network interface on the device. as such I am unable to reload the firmware using the conventional methods stated in the update brochure.

Please help me get things back on track.

thanks

Kosed,

It is possible that the power surge killed the wireless on the unit. Try re-nabling the wireless by following the steps below.

Enable Wireless

In order to use the projector wirelessly, customers need to first enable the wireless on the projector by following below steps:

  1. Install the optional wireless dongle.

  2. Connect the power cable to the wall outlet and press the power button.
  3. Press the Menu button on your projector control panel or remote control.
    1. NOTE:
      Use
Remote Control Left Button, Menu Button Right, Menu Button Up and Menu Button Downbuttons to navigate and Menu Button Enter to select.
4.The wireless connection default is Enabled.
    5. Access the INPUT SOURCE menu, select Wireless/USB and then select Wireless Display on the sub-menu.

The Wireless Guide Screen shown below appears:

Thanks for the reply. however, the wireless settings in the Menu are all greyed out and inactive. i am unable to get to the web interface of the projector since it is unable to get an IP address for both wireless and LAN.

all this happened when the power went off during the wireless firmware update.

Kosed,

Unfortunately, there is no other way to update  the firmware without a internet connection.  You will need to contact Dell Out Of Warranty Support at the link below.
