7700HD, power surge during firmware update
Hi,
i have a Dell 7700HD projector whose wireless firmware I was upgrading when suddenly a power surge caused the UPS to malfunction and go off. Now after a reboot of the device, there is no network interface on the device. as such I am unable to reload the firmware using the conventional methods stated in the update brochure.
Please help me get things back on track.
thanks

Kosed,
It is possible that the power surge killed the wireless on the unit. Try re-nabling the wireless by following the steps below.
Enable Wireless
In order to use the projector wirelessly, customers need to first enable the wireless on the projector by following below steps:
Use
5. Access the INPUT SOURCE menu, select Wireless/USB and then select Wireless Display on the sub-menu.
The Wireless Guide Screen shown below appears:
If wireless connection is disabled, then follow these steps to set up:
ADVANCED SETTINGS -> Wireless Settings -> Wireless -> Connected. The image input source will be automatically switched to wireless screen when wireless option is selected in this step.
Launch the Wireless Application
Once the installation is complete, the program will launch and search automatically. If the program not launch automatically, you can double-click the
icon on the desktop to start the application. Select the Dell 7700FullHD, and then click OK.
To communicate with your projector, enter the Login Code provided in Step 6 of Wireless Networking Installation, then click OK.
If the IP Address is not detected, enter the IP Address displayed at the bottom left corner of the screen.

Thanks for the reply. however, the wireless settings in the Menu are all greyed out and inactive. i am unable to get to the web interface of the projector since it is unable to get an IP address for both wireless and LAN.
all this happened when the power went off during the wireless firmware update.

Kosed,
Unfortunately, there is no other way to update the firmware without a internet connection. You will need to contact Dell Out Of Warranty Support at the link below.
