Obtain Microsoft Office key

If Office was activated through your Microsoft account, the key will be there.  Otherwise, no - there's no way to retrieve the key unless you made a copy somewhere else (and you'll need to find it).

I am not sure how Office was activated, either way it would have been a digital activation and not the old cards that came with your computer back in the day. There would be no copy to make. My frustration is in the fact that I purchased Office with my computer from Dell, and the activation key is not in my digital locker, which is what I thought the locker was for. Since I bought this computer almost 4 years ago, Dell says they have no invoice or even record a sale because it was so long ago? I find it ridiculous that they don't keep records longer than that. To me, I feel like retrieving something like this should be easier and not literally impossible. One thing is for sure. I won't make this mistake twice...

Log into your Microsoft account -- if Office was activated there, the information will be in your account settings.

I did, and I spent over an hour talking with Microsoft's tech support and I logged into my account first thing.  I do not understand how microsoft would know that I purchased a dell computer from dell with microsoft office and would attach it to my microsoft account? I am thinking that the computer came with it loaded on it, or automatically downloaded office when I first turned the computer on. I never registered the computer, and I am guessing that might be part of the problem. I have 3 office keys from computers before 2013 and every computer that I bought since then did not come with a physical key. At this point I am trying to just have a thread out there that might help someone else, if I figure it out, or at least they won't spend as much time trying to find the key as I have.

I also purchased a computer 5 months ago from Dell and the microsoft office key is nowhere to be found for that computer either. Right now I am trying to find that key. It is not linked to my microsoft account or in my Dell digital locker.

We have a Dell XPS and we purchased Office 2021.  we are unable to obtain an activation key.

We have talked to 4 Dell Support techs and they are sending us in circles.
