Hi GibsonG57:

What is your Windows operating system [please include the edition (Home, Pro, etc.), version and OS build number shown at Settings | System | About | Windows Specifications] and what antivirus do you use?

Does the problem persist if you restart your computer?  See the comment below about the Fast Startup*** power option.

The Dell Client Management Service is a shared service used by multiple Dell utilities like Dell Update for Windows Universal v5.x, Dell SupportAssist v4.x, etc.  Is there a particular Dell utility that is not running correctly on your system because of this missing service, and have you recently uninstalled one of these utilities or had an update pushed out recently that might have failed to run to completion?  If so, uninstalling and reinstalling that Dell utility might restore your Dell Client Management Service.  Post back for instructions if required.

I no longer use SupportAssist on my system but I believe that latest versions are Dell Update for Windows Universal v5.2.0 (rel. 31-Jan-2024) and SupportAssist v4.0.1.54588 (rel. 01-Mar-2024).  If these Dell utilities are installed on your system go to Control Panel | Programs | Programs and Features to see what version(s) you currently have.

Also note that Dell recently started rolling out a major upgrade for SupportAssist that changes the version from v3.x to v4.x, and multiple users are posting in the SupportAssist for PCs board about problems installing and/or running SupportAssist v4.0.x.  SupportAssist v4.0.0.51819 started rolling out on 01-Feb-2024 (see the release notes and user guide at https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/product-support/product/dell-supportassist-pcs-tablets/docs) and according to mkjames' 01-Mar-2024 Getting Windows Security Warning about Driver Software in SA 4.0.1.54588 upgrade a newer SupportAssist v4.0.1.54588 is starting to push out.. If SupportAssist v4.0.x has installed correctly on your system you should also see that Microsoft .NET Desktop Runtime v6.0.x. (currently v6.0.27, rel. 13-Feb-2024) is installed at Control Panel | Programs | Programs and Features - see the new minimum system requirements <here> in the SupportAssist v4.0.0 release notes.

*** If you have a Win 8.x or higher OS and haven't already done so, I would strongly advise that you disable Fast Startup as instructed in Option # 1 of Brink’s TenForums tutorial How to Turn On or Off Fast Startup and then re-boot a few times to ensure the setting change takes effect. The Fast Startup power option (also known as hybrid boot-up / hybrid shutdown) is enabled by default in Win 8.x and higher and it can sometimes interfere with the loading and initialization of drivers and services at boot-up and cause all sorts of unexpected glitches and problems with a variety of software, including Windows Update (see the Microsoft Learn article Updates may not be installed with Fast Startup in Windows 10).
