Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue with the scanner not being recognized on your E525w printer:
Check for updates: Ensure that your MacBook Pro is running on the latest operating system and has all the necessary updates installed. Check for any available software updates for the printer as well.
Check connections: Ensure that the USB cable connecting the printer and the MacBook Pro is securely plugged in and not damaged. If you're using a wireless connection, ensure that the printer and MacBook Pro are connected to the same network.
Restart devices: Try restarting both the printer and the MacBook Pro to refresh their connections.
Reinstall drivers: Uninstall the printer software and drivers completely, and then reinstall them from the manufacturer's website. Ensure that you download the correct drivers for your printer model and operating system.
Reset printer settings: Reset the printer to its default settings by pressing and holding the Reset button for five seconds. This may help to clear any errors that may be causing the scanner issue.
Check scanner settings: Ensure that the scanner settings on your MacBook Pro are configured correctly. Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, select your printer, and check the scanner settings.
Contact support: If none of the above steps work, contact the manufacturer's technical support team for further assistance. They may be able to provide additional troubleshooting steps or help diagnose the issue.
Hopefully, these steps will help you resolve the issue with the scanner not being recognized on your E525w printer.
