Network name of Dell 2330dn suddenly changed
Any idea why an old Dell 2330dn would suddenly appear on all Win10/11 computers with the name "ET0021B720F7DE" it's MAC preceded by "ET"), whereas it previously always appeared under the name "2330dn"?
After finding we were suddenly unable to print this morning, I re-found this printer under its new name, and was admittedly able to add it as a new device and print. However, I'd like to understand the reason for the sudden (after 10 years?) autonomous name change, prior to deleting and re-adding the printer on every computer on the premises.
Thank you!

It's possible that the name change you're seeing is due to a change in the network settings of the printer, such as a change in the network name or configuration. This could have been caused by a firmware update, a change in the network infrastructure, or some other factor.
When a printer is connected to a network, it is assigned an IP address and a network name. The network name is what appears when you browse for available printers on your computer. If the network name of the printer changes, it will appear under a different name on your computers.
In your case, it's possible that the printer's network name was changed automatically by the network, or it could have been changed manually by someone with access to the printer's settings. If you want to change the name back to "2330dn", you will need to access the printer's settings and change the network name to the desired value.
To do this, you can use the printer's web interface, which can be accessed by typing the printer's IP address into a web browser. Once you are logged into the printer's web interface, look for a section called "Network" or "TCP/IP" and then locate the field for "Hostname" or "Network Name". From there, you can change the name to "2330dn" and save the changes.
Once you have made this change, the printer should appear under the new name on your computers. If you're still having trouble connecting to the printer, you may need to remove the old printer instance from your computer and add it back again with the new name.
