Error code 50C - Colour Ink Cartridge Problems
I have just bought a Dell PC which came with the A940 printer, this then came with 2 new cartidges, the Black one works without any problems. The Colour cartridge causes problems though, it continually say that there is an "Error code 50C - Consult User Guide". Has anyone ever seens this? As the user guide does not help

Thank you for visiting the Dell Community Forum.
Try cleaning and re-aligning the print cartridge and see if that helps. You can find information on doing this on page 49 of the A940’s Owner manual available for download in PDF format at the following web address:

I have had this problem too, I have removed, cleaned, and replaced the color cartridge a dozen times and I still get Error 50C everytime. Thanks for the referal to the User Manual it is a lost of help (NOT), give my regards to it's writers for the deeply embedded runaround they give people. On page 48 under "Troubleshooting" it says "if you receive the following error: Cartridge Error - got to page 51". From page 51 it gives you two options for Cartridge error messages 1. Install a new cartridge (Page 37), 2. Order new cartridge (Page 38). Neither of these options or pages (37 & 38) tell me what Error 50C is or gives me any idea what is wrong or how to fix it.
By the way, Stephen, "page 49 of the A940’s Owner manual" refers to a Paper Jam, not a cartridge problem.
Does anybody else have any useful information about Error 50C?

I also have recently bought the A940 and I am having an error 50c refer to user guide message. I have cleaned the printer heads and still nothing what is going on and the user guide does not help at all...
