e525w copy and scan stripe on page issue

just started getting a +- 2" wide dark stripe down the side of all copies and scans.

Looks like a common problem per community postings.

Need to fix this? HELP!?

It sounds like the issue you are experiencing is related to the scanner glass or the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) of your Dell E525w printer. Here are a few steps that you can try to resolve this issue:

  1. Clean the scanner glass: Sometimes, dust or debris on the scanner glass can cause stripes or lines on the copies or scans. Try cleaning the scanner glass with a soft, lint-free cloth to remove any dirt or debris.

  2. Clean the ADF rollers: If you are using the ADF to scan or copy, then the rollers on the ADF may also need cleaning. Use a soft cloth or a cleaning wipe to gently clean the rollers, and then try scanning or copying again.

  3. Reset the printer: Sometimes, resetting the printer can resolve this type of issue. Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for a few minutes before plugging it back in and turning it on.

  4. Update the printer firmware: Check the Dell support website for any firmware updates for your printer model. Download and install any available updates to see if that resolves the issue.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, then you may need to contact Dell support or a printer repair service for further assistance.
