1135n, drivers online don't work with Mac OS 10.13.x

Hi!  The drivers posted on the site for the 1135n multi-function printer do not install correctly on Apple OS High Sierra 10.13.5 or 10.13.6.

https://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/drivers/driversdetails?driverId=T2T03

Please have the driver team look into this and create a fix. Currently I am unable to use my printer from any apple device running this operating system, the printer has always been setup as a network TCP/IP printer and never had any issues till upgrading to the High Sierra 10.13.x operating system. The drivers posted online from Dell say they are compatible with Apple Mac OS 10.13 but that isn't the case currently. Thanks!

I found a workaroud for this. I'm on 10.14.2

I was experiencing the same problem. I even tried to add the printer via the IP address and the printer would be recognized and added to my list, then when I tried to print the printer would spool up, but then the job would disappear from the queue and the printer would stop spooling. It was very frustrating.

My GF has an older MacBook on 10.6.2 so I tried installing the drivers on her system and everything worked flawlessly. So what I did was grab the Dell and PPDs folders from /Library/Printers on her computer and transferred them over to my computer. I then reset the Printer System and did a normal install procedure, and everything seems to work, as far as the wireless printing goes. I haven't yet tested the scanner wirelessly yet.

I should note that this is the only printer we currently have and use, so if you have multiple printers that do work on your network, this fix might break other connections.

Here's a dropbox link to the folders that need to be copied to the /Library/Printers directory: https://www.dropbox.com/s/g6u7sffuue0fvda/Dell_1135n_Mac_Fix.zip?dl=0

Delete the previously installed printer. Then try this workaround I posted for e310dw printer driver installer in High Sierra.

It appears this problem was never solved. I'm having the same problem right now, and the workaround suggested earlier in the thread didn't work. Does anyone have a solution?

This doesn't work.  The driver install doesn't give you an option for 32-bit install in the info window.

Thank you for the reply! I ended up deleting all the /Library/Printers files on my machine and copied the exact same folder from my wife's Macbook Air over to my system and retried the install. It noticed some error upon the printer install but it was able to self correct and I can now print from the Macbook. So thank you for the suggestion it appears to be working well enough for printing which is all I needed. I wish Dell would release correct drivers for future versions of the Mac o.s. so I don't have to do these workarounds. I appreciate you helping out!

Got the Scanning working too.
Will need to copy a few more files from a Mac that is running 10.7 Lion (I have a few older MacBook Pro, have to reinstall Lion on one of them to make it work) or lower.

Files List are below ( Will needs to copy and paste the files that was mentioned in @Renkonen's post for Printing to work, the list below is added for making Scanning to Mac works)

/Library/Image Capture/Devices/Dell Scanner 1
/Library/Image Capture/TWAIN Data Sources/Dell1135nLaserMFP.ds

Copy those 2 files from the machine that is running 10.7 or older, and has the Dell 1135n Printer Driver installed, (make sure it work on the old machine too).
Then Paste them in the new machine to the according folders.

Install Printer normally, Driver should be picked automatically.

Tested, it works on 10.13.6 High Sierra, Color Scan works, not like Mojavi and Catalina, only can scan Black & White.

@Ching023 Can you post a dropbox link to the scanner files? I don't have the old laptop anymore...or the old GF for that matter.

This did work eventually, don't think I reset the Printer System initially. Security and Privacy pickup the *.bundle files though, ignoring the prompt sends files to the printer though. Cheers!
