Upgrade for Dell Precision m4800--what do I do?

Hi all. I have been trying for days to get an answer on this--I'm hoping this forum can help me.

I have a refurbished Dell Precision m4800, and a few days ago, I received a mSata drive and two additional RAM modules. I've been attempting to install them.

The machine has some sort of black diagram / paper / sticker identifying and covering all the slots. There is no mention of this in the manual, and I haven't seen it on ANY YouTube video or image search regarding the m4800.

The sticker has indents where each of the slots begin, and it looks like they should separate, but they do not. The sticker covers the actual connections. It is confusing because the battery slot is ALSO covered by that sticker and yet it fits...but the mSata WILL NOT fit with that thing in there. I have tried. A lot. It can't get clearance with the sticker blocking it.

The only thing I can think of is that I need to take this ENTIRE sticker off, but even with all the screws out I can't determine how I actually do that. OR I wasn't supposed to try and remove this at all, but I can't determine how that could be the case, since the parts only fit when the sticker is removed, and i can't find any mention of it in anything I've read from Dell or anywhere else.

What do I do here?

Appreciate any assistance!

Hi @camannwordsmith ,

When referring to a DELL Precision M4800 Disassembly Process video, you can see that all the mentioned stickers should not cover connectors. After all RAM, mSATA or WAN modules removed, those stickers are still there.

In your case that mSATA sticker covered connectors, it's probably the previous owner unnecessarily tried remove it. I believe you could only remove the sticker by force or a scissors.
