Dell XPS 9320 Camera Not Attached

Hello everyone,

I've recently ran into an issue where the camera of my laptop is "no longer attached". The camera is detected under device manager but isn't shown as an output in any apps. I've already tried deleting the camera and restarting my device, etc. The machine is currently out of warranty. Is there anything that I can do to fix the issue? I need the camera for work.

The issue is fixed now. I came across a batch file that dell runs to remove all camera drivers. https://pastebin.com/Awm7FTjV

After running the file, it takes about 10-15 mins, install the lastest imaging driver, and the camera started working again.

If the issue was caused by recent Windows updates, it can be resolved by following the steps provided by DELL-Nat M in this discussion.  After the removal of USB Bridge extensions and reinstallation of camera driver, your camera will be discovered again.

@Chino de Oro

Hello, sorry about the late response. I deleted the bad driver so I don't have it anymore, but the camera still isn't functional. I've also tried other fixes, while checking device manager, I discovered some power failure messages. Could they be part of the problem? Any assistance would be helpful. Thank you.

It seems that Dell has acknowledge the camera issue and will release a fix in this coming days.

From your multiple failure messages, I am guessing that they could be coming from multiple fixes you have had applied to your device.  I suggest to remove/uninstall every one of them and reboot your machine.  Scan for hardware changes in Device Manager or download and install the drivers below.

Intel chipset device software

Camera controller driver

Remember to reboot the system after each installation.
