Dell repair returned laptop unusable
I sent my precision laptop to check for water drop spills on keyboard. The laptop worked completely fine yet I wanted to make sure nothing is damaged. After Dell returned the laptop, the laptop was completely a mess. The fan was not working and the OS (which is Dell's original ubuntu 18.02) does not load. I contacted dell several times and they are not responsive at all and say they cannot help because it's an Ubuntu system. However, the laptop is Dell's installed original OS and I don't know what else to do. This is really frustrating because I spent a lot of money assuming Dell is a reputable company, but it seems that they do not care at all, no customer service, and I don't understand what's the point of paying for warranty and accident damage.
Bottom line, if you want a cheap laptop, maybe Dell is ok. But I would not rely on them to buy an expensive laptop at all.

The social media team from this board followed up with me closely until I got the computer fixed at Dell. Thanks.

Hi,
This is Royan, Manager with Dell's Social Media Team. I keep a track of cases handled by my team. I see we had pulled the your system to our factory and have shipped it back to you after fixing it. I am following up to check if everything is resolved to your satisfaction now. I understand this is the second time you are sending your system to the factory to have it fixed. We are sorry about that, and ensure to work on your feedback. If you do have any feedback you would like to share, please free to drop me a message here, and we will be sure to work on them.
Regards,
Royan

Hi Royan,
Unfortunately no. Dell reinstalled the OS; however, after following the steps for initial setup and restart, I see a back screen. So it seems that the OS that DELL resintalled is not isntalled properly. Can you please help resolve this?

Unfortunately even though the social media team followed this up, I received the laptop with OS reinstalled for which I'm thankful. But after following the Dell setup screen and restart at the end, a back screen appears. So unfortunately the issue remains. I yet wait for Dell to resolve this.
