Dell precision 5520 power button light blinking

My system initially started with a warning message that says " the AC adapter can't be determined, the battery may not charge". After a while, my battery died off. I ordered for a new original AC adapter with cable from dell corporation directly. I just got it, I tried it again. The power button keeps blinking without turning on. Please help me, I'm confused and frustrated. I don't know what else to do

If you have a brand new Dell OEM adapter and are seeing this message than either the DC jack (available at Parts-People here) needs to be replaced or there is a problem on the main board. I would go the DC jack route first.

@JOcean the laptop isn't coming on at all. That's the issue

My point is if the adapter is not recognized and charging the battery then the battery will die and hence no power to the unit. Also if not recognized very probably no power when connected to run the system off the adapter. Of course the MB could be the problem as well.

You can try a reset though it may not help at all. Disconnect the battery and the adapter. Press and hold down the power button for 30 seconds. Then reconnect everything and try again.

One more point is that assuming the blinking power light is not amber, then a low power state is indicated which again corresponds directly to a dead battery and a not detected adapter.
