T7920 Update Dell Provided Firmware on SSDs in a VROC Array

So I've got two Dell OEM (Toshiba KXG50PNV1T02) in a VROC array and after checking firmware versions using the Intel VROC app I've discovered that both of them have older firmware versions and they don't match.

So naturally I downloaded the latest version of the firmware from the Dell support site and followed all instructions and when I ran the updater it didn't find any drives.

I'm assuming this is because they are "masked" by the VROC controller and are only appearing to the system as a "volume" and not the individual drives themselves (not showing up at the hardware level).

So is there a process workaround for updating the firmware for SSDs when they are in an array?
