T7910 memory configuration
I've just picked up a t 7910 that was running with 32GB. Single CPU, nothing fancy but something to replace my old, slower system with. I do a lot of spreadsheet work and that old 8GB system wasn't cutting it. The Dell came with 32GB memory installed and I purchased another 32 to add to it. My issuer is that I know there is a pattern to add memory but I can find no diagrams to indicate which channels are which..
I found a diagram for a R7910 but that was no help.
Just need to know which is Channel 0 and the slots assigned to each channel.
Thanks, TheOldPuterMan

Here is the memory module guidelines for your system. Channel 0 is located next to PCIe slots, starting with Dimm 1. The Dimm info should be imprinted on motherboard and side panel.

Thanks, I was able to sort out the issue with the info you provided me. The blinking green light on the MOBO was gone and the system booted. I still have an issue but not sure if it is memory.
After the system booted with the base 32GB I tried adding the "NEW" 32 in. I inserted the DIMM's and tried to boot but got the POST 2-5 flash again. I then removed the "NEW" memory, put it under a lens and discovered I had a mixed bag of 3 8GB 1Rx4 PC4 DIMMs and 1 stick that was 8GB 1Rx8. Didn't think you could mix them so I pulled them and left the original 32GB in place. Problem is that not I can not get the system to boot. Oh, and the blinking green LED is back on the MOBO. No 2-5 flashing POST error though.
I've tried everything that I can think of. Swapped DIMMs around, seated and reseated them, pulled and reseated the PS, checked HD seating, I swapped out the video card, replaced the cable to the monitor, took the comp to a different power source, even created a Win 10 x64 boot stick.. At this point I'm almost ready to say the heck to it and eat my cost.

Although you marked the thread as solved, you can continue to post questions and any community member including myself will be assisting you with what we can.
Before diving into figuring out how to resolve the issue(s), can this newly purchased system be returned if it doesn't work? Can the 32gb mismatch memory kit also be returned?
Which region, market, you are sourcing the products from? As many competitive markets/sellers will allow returns within a certain limit time (usually 30 days). Once you sorted out the purchase returns and if you are stuck with a problem machine, then you (we) can try troubleshooting to repair it.

Since now the original RAM isn't working and the system was introduced in 2014...
How to Perform a BIOS or CMOS Reset and Clear the NVRAM on Dell Computers Be sure to replace the size 2032 battery with a new one unless it's under 5 yrs. old.
Some Dell's are picky if even just the brand of RAM is mixed. Voltages especially can't be mixed. The Dell I mainly use was made in 2014. I do have 2 brands of RAM in it, but all other specs are the same.
Also: Crucial RAM is guaranteed to work in Dell's, but can be a little pricey. I've used A-Tech for years, also with a lifetime warranty. Though I'm not the biggest fan of Hynix RAM, Dell does often use it for their OEM. So if your original RAM is Hynix...
