T3600 CPU fan replacement?
I've bought a Noctua NF-A8 PWM to replace the fan. But it has a 4-pin connector.
So I bought a Ronyaoko 5-pin female to 4-pin male converter. And it was marketed as Dell-compatible. But the computer says that no CPU fan is connected. It only moves during these surges during startups. I can only make it run by using an external power source (that makes me lose one SATA power connector.)
So what is missing in the equation?

Google has a lot of images matching search keyword "dell cpu fan pinout" for 5-pin option, you can reference your original cooler to make sure it it matches (ground, 12v, PWM signals for sense/tachometer and control), might need some wire swaps.

@speedstep It looks like we have identical converters. Only that mine is of the brand Ronyaoko. Did you rewire yours?

Why would I buy an adapter then re wire it?
What is on each wire can be tested with meter as well as scope.

So, I've managed to pop out one of the cables from the female connector in the converter just using a wooden toothpick, labeled "MWX". But how do I re-insert it? Does it need some tool?
