PCIe holder in Dell Precision 5820

Several questions: Is the PCIe holder in the Dell Precision 5820 for M2 drives? If so how many? Which RAID do these drives go to? Is this an UEFI RAID?

The Win 8.1 image is RAM Disk.

The PCIe Holder is a plastic bracket that is used to stabilize the back end of long business class video cards.

I am pretty sure the part you are asking about is referred to in the owners manual as "SSD Carrier".

The front flex bays on the Precision 5820 can be configured with NVME m.2 sold state drives.

Here is a quote from a Dell Support article that includes part numbers required to install NVME drives into your front bays.

"575-BBSH - Allows user to add a front loadable M.2 NVMe (PCIe Gen3 x4) SSD into the system. This module does require that the unit is already configured to support NVMe SSDs in the FlexBay with a PCIE SSD backplane. The required SSD is not included with the module. If the unit is not already configured to support NVMe SSDs in a FlexBay, you will need to also order the conversion kit (750-ABDF for 5820|7820 Tower and 575-BBSP for 7920 Tower).

This module contains -
M.2 Carrier
Thermal Pads
M.2 3.5" Module Bay
Capacity Label sheet for M.2 Carrier(256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB included)"
