That is the placeholder for battery pack, used as backup power for storage controller. Such as LSI, AVAGO RAID card with cache.

Very confusing question with indication of both PSU and GPU.
On the GPU, there are connectors for NVLink bridge, a high-speed GPU interconnect.
On the PSU, there is guiding track to keep a black plastic cables cover in place.
