Dell Precision T3600 Workstation Maximum SATA drive storage supported
Hello,
Does anyone know if there is a limitation on the size of internal SATA hard drive that could be put into Dell Precision T3600 Workstation. I was going to put in 16TB hard drive, but don’t know if the machine will support it.
Best Regards,
Recess

We tried reaching you on a private message asking for the Service Tag number to ascertain the warranty but did not receive a response. Please feel free to reply to the private message whenever you are available.

2TB is the limit for booting. Non boot drives can be larger with host bus adapter and 64 bit os.
Seagate Beyond 2.2TB
Seagate has a driver for that.
The device driver mounts the capacity above 2.2TB with another MBR which looks to the system as a second virtual “physical” device. GUID Partition Tables (GPT) can define drives larger than 2.2TB

Thank you, this will be for non-boot drive. So I’ll have to buy host bus adapter, is there a particular brand/types or generic adapter will do?
Best Regards,
