Dell Digital Audio Interface Driver (DPWC800) for Windows 10
Hi,
I have a Precision 5820 Workstation and i bought the Dell Digital Audio Interface (DP/N 09VDH4) and i cannot find the Windows 10 Drivers to this device on Dell Website!
Because of Missing drivers, XMOS DFU is not recognized by Windows while, the USB sound, detects only xCORE USB Audio 2.0 without all sound options in advanced drivers options.
Then, please, this device is provided by Dell and i need the drivers!

I @speedstep would recommend Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 3rd Gen 2x2 USB Audio Interface instead. The studio bundle offers a more integrated solution.

The Dell Digital Audio Interface 09VDH4
DPWC800 is UVC USB USB Audio 1.0 Audio device class specification. There are NO DRIVERS.
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/usbcon/supported-usb-classes
I am not a pro Audio user but I have the hardware and the drivers and it does work when EVERYTHING is installed.
XMOS is not a dell product or driver
Nor is Thesycon’s AISO USB audio class driver
Not supported by Me, Microsoft , Dell.
https://www.xmos.ai/file/dfu-user-guide/
https://www.xmos.ai/download/DFU-loader-for-XMOS-USB-Audio-devices(4).pdf
https://thesycon.de/eng/usb_audiodriver.shtml
THIS IS NOT FREE Software.
And its not offered to end users
https://thesycon.de/eng/usb_audiodriver_select.php
Thesycon’s DFU tools and USB audio class driver TUSBAudio targets USB audio devices for professional and semi-professional use and highest quality audiophile HiFi systems. The driver supports devices which are compliant to the USB Audio 2.0 or USB Audio 1.0 device class specification. The driver provides an ASIO 2.3.1 compliant software interface and integrates with Windows as a standard WDM/DirectX compatible sound device. If the device provides MIDI features the driver exposes standard Windows MIDI ports.
To meet professional audio requirements, the audio class driver is optimized for low latency and low CPU load. Buffer depths can be adjusted by the user to optimize settings for a given computer. The driver implements a transparent (bit-perfect) playback and recording data path.
The other features come from the

@speedstep if you have it, maybe you could satisfy one thing I was always curious about. What is the usage of the sata connector in the whole picture of that interface ?

Oh I know. But the thing is that the video for the 7820 ( to install the same interface )
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZG7n6AdfB7c
is different, and also the sata port is connected. And I found it quite weird ( I checked both videos months ago ) that on the 7920 only the usb cable was shown being used, while in the 7820 also the sata cable is plugged in.

I am not dell and I am not dell engineering. So I won't be answering questions about hardware or drivers or pinouts or schematics etc.
I also do not know what the DPN for the USB to flexbay cable is and I'm not tearing my system apart every time someone wants all the part numbers for a specific device.
I @speedstep can tell you the sata power conection is not optional. Installing this device is very easy watch the video below. YMMV
@DELL-Chris M might have more information.
As far as I know this was a CTO option but was available as a KIT which I also have no idea what the DPN is.

And another observation...
The sound by this DPWC8000 is very better than using Creative AE-7 Soundcard (Using headphones). It is more stronger and clean (and using AE-7 already it it fine)!
I've contated Pro Support about this missing drivers and they answered (This product has been discontinued and we do not support).
And the last. This product use the DVD ROM Bay on chassi 5820 and The power cable and Satta cable come installed from factory (it is free for use in the workstation to install another DVD extra driver or DPWC800). You must only install the USB Cable in the USB 2.0 Header (motherboard). This cable is included with device.

There is nothing wierd.

Might have more information as to what fits in what and what part numbers are for the kits as well as the flex bay cable for the models that this works in.

"You must only install the USB Cable in the USB 2.0 Header (motherboard). This cable is included with device."
However you are not guaranteed to get said cables via an EBAY purchase unless its pictured and specified in the sale. Thats why I said I do not know the part # for the USB cable for the DPWC800 9VDH4 audio interface. It's also disappointing that there is not more documentation for this device. It requires BOTH SATA DATA AND POWER CABLES as well as the USB FLEXBAY CABLE.
Without SATA power , SATA DATA cable and the DELL USB Flexbay cable this device DOES NOT WORK. The 4 screws that go into the side of the unit are also not optional.
@DELL-Chris M might have more information about part numbers.

Update...
Hi,
I've tried to install Realtek HD Audio drivers (i activated the USB internal Audio in Bios options - I've disabled before because i have a Creative AE-7), and still the Windows dont recognize the XMOS DFU drivers. I am using the Windows 10 PRO for Workstations (6 core Plus).
And the XMOS DFU missing drivers only appear when the PDWC800 is connected in computer. The PDWC800 appears work fine (With xCore USB Audio 2.0 standard drivers), but i still dont know what is the XMOS DFU missing drivers.

Please check this

I think that you can ignore the xmos dfu entry (since definitely there are no updates to the firmware or no alternative firmware available... unless dell has something hidden somewhere, that is)

About Xeon W response i cannot paste... the forum is deleting all my postage!!!! I will try post a little bit:
Dear, good morning.
I received feedback from Dell Engineering regarding your questions.
1st Your motherboard, R23KR, is compatible with Kaby and Cascade lake line processors (W-21xx and W-22xx), however that have TDP of up to 140W.
The revision change to A01 did not change the TDP capacity to above 140W.
So, if you want to upgrade to W-2265 processor, you will also need to upgrade your motherboard, to support the TDP required by the processor.
I believe that Dell does not sell parts not marked as upgrade parts, such as motherboards, however, I recommend that you contact Dell's commercial area, and see if you can get an exception in this case, as it is necessary to change the motherboard, to purchase and use the processor you want.
Due to not having additional actions to provide at the moment, I will keep your case filed with me, and you can resume the service if necessary, within 10 days, by simply replying to this email.
