Ok... i took a look to my installations sheets and indeed we have installed the driver for that library device. The package contains several versions and because we dont have the license for path failover or the use of LTFS i always use the " install_nonexclusive.exe" one.

The package contains 2016/2019 and 2022.

Open the windows device manager and press the "rescan" button. You should see a tape drive and tape library. If not this is the root cause of the Veeam error and you should fix your Windows / HW problem first.

Iam not talking about the controller(HBA355e, 12G SAS, FC)?  There has to be entry for Tapelibrary and one for the LTO drive.

This is how it looks like for the previous version (TL2000/4000) of the ML3.

I can see the tape controller on the device manager.

The tape drives are there, but I can't see that medium changer device.

Hi @Mohammad Jundiah,

Have you gone through the initial setup process to create a logical path and control path? Page 56 onwards: https://dell.to/3EMne7S

If you have done the setup, you can use the Utility ITDT-SE CLI to check the issue if any of the process is being skipped. https://dell.to/3EN3FML

Question: Witch version of the Windows Server OS do you have installed?  I ask because i would like to answer "Now you should install the windows driver for the ML3" but i cant remember that i installed one on my deployments because Dell says that the driver package which Dell provides is only for LTFS or Failover setups.

Last setup was with Server 2022, Veeam 11.a and ML3 and works "out of the box" after setup up the ML3.

Note: i thought about your initial post that the ML3 already was setup and works for quite some time and now stops working and Veeam complains about.  Now it looks like that you havent start the setup of the ML3?

I did. Now it says "unknown medium changer" on the medium changer devices.

Hello,

yes it could be. But which driver did you installed for the Tape Backup?

It could be also an hardware issue, is the tape drive under warranty?

Thanks
