Connecting MD1200 or MD1400 to 16G Server

Hi all,

My customer currently using R720XD with MD1200 and one NX440 with MD1400. Would the new 16G server able to connect both MD1200 or MD1400? And previous generations, if connecting MD storage, you are required to use PERC H8x0 cards in order to configure RAID and since the new 16G server doesn't have new H8x0 cards, can the new H965 cards able to do what H8x0 cards as well? Thank you.

The MD1400 and MD1420 storage enclosures support the following adapters and controllers:

Dell HBA355e
Dell 12 Gbps SAS HBA
Dell PERC H840
Dell PERC H830

Dell Storage MD14xx Enclosure Support Matrix | Dell US

The following controllers are supported with the Dell EMC MD12XX storage enclosures:

Dell EMC PERC H800 (for 11th generation of Dell EMC PowerEdge servers)
Dell EMC PERC H810 (for 12th generation of Dell EMC PowerEdge servers)
Dell EMC 6 Gbps SAS HBA (for 12th generation of Dell EMC PowerEdge servers)
Dell Shared PERC 8 (for 12th and 13th generation of Dell EMC PowerEdge VRTX servers)

Dell EMC PowerVault MD12XX Enclosure Support Matrix | Dell US

Officially, I see no other controllers that are supported by these storage.
