Which versions of powerpath for RHEL Linux including OS version need to have the _netdev option
Which versions of powerpath for RHEL Linux including OS version need to have the _netdev option set in the /etc/fstab file.
Documentation is flakey powerpath 5.3 needs it set for RHEL 5, 5.1, 5.2 and 5.3... but no reference in powerpath 5.7.
Can anybody clarify this for me

Hi Michael,
The PP 5.7 Release note has it documented in page 45.
Please find the PP 5.7 Release note @https://support.emc.com/docu42985_PowerPath-Family-for-Linux-5.7-and-Minor-Releases-Release-Notes.pdf?language=en_US

Hi Michael,
As per my understanding /etc/fstab file has to be updated for 5.7 and minor releases as well.
The reason why they removed it from documentation may be because, now the message is displayed
"Please update the following configuration files before starting PowerPath:
1. /etc/fstab for mount options
2. /etc/lvm/lvm.conf for LVM filter
3. /etc/multipath.conf for blacklisting devices from DM Multipath" as soon as PP is installed on the host
