SLES 10 x86_64 with PowerPath 5.0 - Server HANG

Question

Hi all,

I have a server with:
SLES 10 x86_64 (kernel 2.6.16.21-0.8-smp )
Emulex LPe1150 HBA
Driver 8.1.6 ( from SLES10 install )

Before installing PowerPath, the server behaved OK. I even mounted some File Systems from disks on Storage Array (EMC Clariion CX300), and used them.

After I installed PowerPath 5.0 the server hangs periodically, while performing IO.

You can also log a case with EMC and attach the EMC grab. This will definately solve your problem.Best of LuckMessage was edited by: Navin

Same problem with Qlogic 2340 HBA either v8.01.04k or v8.01.06 (SLES10 x86_64) an powerpath 5.0.157.BTW, since I am a novice, EMC grab ? (how and send where ?)anrovla

you need to open a ticket with EMC, i usually go ahead and attach grab output to the case. Grab utility is here: Home > Support > Product and Diagnostic Tools > Grab Utilities
