Procedure to go from PowerPath 5.5.0.2 to 5.3.SP1

Hello guys,

I have a Dual AIX VIO Environment and I've recently upgraded PowerPath to 5.5.0.2. (The Dual VIO gives hdiskpower disks to LPARs through Virtual SCSI).

I need to go back to PowerPath 5.3 SP1 because PP 5.5.0.2 is not certified with my VIO version (2.1.3.10-FP23).

Also, I have installed ODM 5.3.0.5.

1) Which are the recommended steps to do it?

2) After uninstall 5.5.0.2 and install 5.3 SP1, will I lose the relation between LUN number and hdiskpower?

I appreciate any tip or experience you had have.

With regards to the relationship between the LUN number and the hdiskpower devices, there is no guarantee that LUN mapping will remain the same after the downgrade. It is possible that they may remain the same. If there are LVMs on the devices, the hidskpower device numbers won't matter because the LVM will be able to identify the file systems and mount them.
