PowerPath Alerting and Notification

I have a customer asking how best to send an email notification on PowerPath errors or event notifications. Attached hosts are ESXi, Linux, WIndows and AIX.

Unfortunately, customer will not deploy PPMA due to lack of LDAP integration.

Any ideas? Thinking that we could gather the events/errors by scrubbing logs or use SNMP to send a trap (Linux/AIX) but really looking to see if anyone has run into this before and thought about an end to end solution?
