PowerPath 6.3 not loading on newer RHEL 7 kernels
kernel 3.10.0-862.* fails
kernel 3.10.0-693.* works
Errors I'm getting:
# systemctl start PowerPath
Job for PowerPath.service canceled.
# /usr/lib/PowerPath/PowerPath start
Starting PowerPath: PowerPath could not load module emcp
Error loading PowerPath kernel modules
failed

Hi hudsterboy - the reason the kernel 3.10.0-862.* fails is that it is included with RHEL 7.5 release, which is not supported on PowerPath 6.3 for Linux. For RHEL 7.5 support you will need PowerPath 6.4 for Linux, which is due out later this month.

Hi Drew - you can check the E-Lab Navigator to see if your specific configuration is supported before you upgrade
And, the PowerPath 6.4 for Linux release is out now, check out: https://support.emc.com/products/1742_PowerPath-for-Linux for more information and downloads
