Invalid Module format on load of PPath on SLES10SP1

Hi guys

Having trouble getting PP to load on Linux host.
Details:

SLES 10 SP1 Kernel (uname output) Linux moriarty 2.6.16.46-0.12-bigsmp #1 SMP Thu May 17 14:00:09 UTC 2007 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

PP RPM: EMCpower.LINUX-5.1.0-194 from RPM: EMCpower.LINUX-5.1.0-194.sles10sp1.i386.rpm

Probelm is:

moriarty:~ # /etc/init.d/PowerPath start
Starting PowerPath: FATAL: Error inserting emcp (/lib/modules/2.6.16.46-0.12-bigsmp/powerpath/emcp.ko): Invalid module format
PowerPath could not load module emcp
Error loading PowerPath kernel modules
failed

Problem seems to be conflict with Novell NSS. Find this in /var/log/messages:

Dec 17 13:48:11 moriarty kernel: emcp: module not supported by Novell, setting U taint flag.
Dec 17 13:48:11 moriarty kernel: emcp: exports duplicate symbol __moddi3 (owned by libnss)

any others having this issue. BTW NSS is a part of the Open Enterprise Server AddOn to SLES from Novell. Storage system driver. Sound likely to be connected.

No, not modified. Vanilla server build off the SLES 10 SP1 DVD with OES2 add-on for eDirectory and NSS.

Well, it seems that it was a Microsoft type of an issue :-)

No, its is a Linux box but I neckd it today and rebooted,,,, hey presto, PP and NSS both loaded ????

Not a kernel geek so no idea why it would make a difference but it works and thats all I care about.
