PowerPath Migration Enabler (PPME)

Hi,

Customer wanted to try PPME for a RedHAT sotrage migration.

We tested but we found some issues, first of all, when we did the migration and executed the "clean" command at the end, it looks like the script began to format the source disk completly (not expected).

Also the "clean" command looks to be hung, running for more than 1 hour with no results, so customer decided to kill process and discard migration.

Any similar experience with that? Is there any way to avoid the source to be formatted?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Thanks for your question. Page 21 https://dell.to/3Fs5jTn was it running the cleanup step?

Cleanup is the final step in the migration process, where the following occurs:  When entered from the Committed state, the powermig cleanup command removes enough data from the former source device to prevent the existence of two identical logical units, ensuring that the operating system or applications do not become confused.
