Getting "media driver" missing error when installing 2012 R2 on a R310
When installing on an R310 from the Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials Disc, I click Install Now, then get this error:
"A media driver your computer needs is missing. This could be a DVD, USB or Hard Disk driver. If you have a CD, DVD, or USB flash drive with the driver on it, please insert it now. Note: if the installation medial for Windows is in the DVD drive or the USB drive, you can safely remove it for this step"
Is there a disc I need to get by this message?

Hi,
Are you installing from system services during post? Which raid controller are you using?

All I do during POST is change the boot sequence to boot from the CD-ROM. I then boot into the WIndows disc.
The machine already has Windows 2008 on it. I use the defaults for RAID. Do you need more details on that?

What do you mean you "use defaults for RAID"? Do you mean you are using the onboard S100 RAID controller? I would recommend not using it at all. Try turning the onboard RAID/SATA to AHCI or non-RAID, so you are just sing the chipse/SATA controller in AHCI mode (disabling S100).
If you still get that message, 9/10 times it is because the installation media is bad.
