DELL R410 Hardware upgrade issues Error W1628 related to Power Degraded
Hi guys
we did some hardware upgrade on a Dell R410 Rev2 model recently it had 2 CPu quadcore and 48GB DDR3 ECC 1333Mhz ram with 3 HDD SAS 10K 146GB..
So we bought some cheap parts to upgrade it a litle...
We bought cheap Samsung 128GB DDR3 ECC 1066mhz on 8x16GB ddr3 slots..
and 2 XEON X5675 3.06Ghz and upgraded togheter with 4 600GB SAS DISKS 10K...
The server has 2 redudant 500watts power supply
but after installing the upgraded we started having W1628: Performance degraded. Check PSU and system configuration..
Both power supplies are plugged in the cables.. and both have green light.... any ideas on what could be the issue?

Hi, It could be that the power supply is not providing enough power to the system after the upgrade. Try swapping the power supplies or replacing them with compatible power supplies with sufficient wattage to support your upgraded hardware configuration. The upgraded components, may not be properly recognized or supported by the system due to incompatible settings or configurations.

PortalNET2,
If you aren't also seeing a power supply error on startup stating the hardware has exceeded, and along with dual green diagnostic indicators on both of the power supplies, I don't think the issue is based on the power supplies. What I am thinking is the issue is with the upgraded parts themselves, now I see the 3.06 X5675 as listed for the R410, so I would suggest you start with removing the drives and seeing if the error persists, if so then I would then test removing the upgraded dimms for the original to see if it works, if so then try adding the drives back to see if it then causes the error to return. This should help us isolate the device causing the issue.
Lastly, would you let me know the part numbers of the upgraded devices?
Let me know how it goes, and if this helps.

Hi pressed wrong button on accepted solution..
so first things first the power consumption on out wattage meter is show up around 220 to 350watts on startup of the server.. after running status it drops to avera 200 to 250 watts consumption.. we have 2 Dell 500WATTS psus.. which other model yould you recommend replacement? is there any 600watts redundant psus compatible with dell R410? because as far as i´ve searched online the max watts psu i found for dell R410 is actually the same 500watts PSUs i am using..

Hi
Sorry for late reply just now found the time to start another round of testing..whichi will go trought the steps you have mentioned this week..
Basically initially had 48GB ram DDR3.. only 1 HDD SAS, on it.. so i bought 4 New SAS 10K 600GB hdds and attached to it, removed the Perc S700 Raid controler and installed a Perc S100 on lower slot so i could release PCI-e Gen slot upper and i have inserted a HP Dual SFP+ 10G fiber NIC card..
i will try to remove the 128GB ram DDR and place back the 48GB.. one thing i have noticed was the 128GB ram was 16GB DDR3 1066Mhz dimms.. and the current ones that came with the server were DDR3 1333mhz.. but when i start up the server on the configuration setup menu its showing 128GB DDR3 867mhz speed.. strange.

Hi @PortalNET2,
Do let us know the outcome of the troubleshooting, after you have done the mentioned above.
About the memory, can you check the full specification of the memory for us. If possible, try getting picture of both the memory module.
