PERC H330 L2/L3 cache error UEFI0116

I ony want to post this in order to help people who cannot find a solution for this blocking situation, because I found a lot of posts and nobody offered working solution. Probably this can apply to other brands.

This situation usually happens when server is suddenly powered off and cache data could not be written to disks.

So the goal is to tell the controller that must discard those last data. Although there is a text box waiting for an answer, we tried some and did not get work any of them, so there is a B plan for this.

The command for discard the cache data is located on driver health protocol utility, and that utility can be accesed from BIOS options.

The problem is that raid bios loads before system bios, so is a silly blocking situation.

The way I found to solve it was the following steps:

1) power off the server

2) remove the optional PERC raid controller

3) power on and enter the BIOS

4) change boot mode from UEFI to BIOS

5) save changes and shutdown

6) Insert the PERC raid controller

7) power on and enter the BIOS with F2

locate driver health protocol utility or something similar for raid manager (I cannot remember it well because I do not have that server)

9) from there, you must to find the option to discard the cache data

10) Is is not required but I also selected the option for no stop on booting error never again.

11) save and reboot.

I hope this message can help someone. Good luck!
