Moving drives to different server with different RAID controller
Hello,
I currently have a Dell PowerEdge R720XD with PERC H710P and 12 drives in RAID 6 running Debian Docker host. I just bought a Dell PowerEdge T630 with PERC H730 and was wondering if I could simply transfer drives between servers or if a clean install will be needed/recommended ? Firmwares are up to date on both servers.

Hello, what you have in mind is possible, technically- (according to this article https://dell.to/3LNcB7G) BUT please note I can't guarantee how your OS would process this in reality. It's just that the RAID information is expected to be migrated is all I could say.
