How to create a RAID1 without losing data

Question

Can I create a RAID1 in Open Manage without losing data? I have a PE T310 with 2 SATA drives. I installed the OS on one drive and would like to create a RAID1.

Can you share the storage controller model? For installing OS did you created a single disk RAID 0? Is the second disk is same type and family of first drive. If your controller support then you can try Raid Level Migration (RLM) to convert RAID 0 to RAID 1 without loosing data

I have 2 2TB Seagate drives. Different models. Installed OS with both drives installed but as a RAID0. In device manager, storage controller is a LSI adapter, SAS 3000 series, 8-port with 1068E and a Microsoft Storage Spaces Controller is also listed. Do you run TLM from Open Manager? Not familiar with this process. Let me know if you need anything else. Thank you

Converting 2 disk RAID 0 to RAID 1 is not supported. You need to take a back up of the data then install the new drive and Operating system on that and copy the data back.

Hello Computer gladia,

You are correct. After you backup your data, you will need to create a RAID 1 (mirror), then install and restore data as ShineK described.
