Can't get SSD to boot on PowerEdge R720

First to provide context, I used to work in a data center, I thought this would be a simple install but it's everything but that.

Bios and hardware info:

Product name: perc h310 mini

Bios software: 3.00-0026

Setup:

500 GB SSD

Two 4 TB HDD

16 GB RAM

Here's the problem. I'm trying to install Ubuntu on the 500 GB SSD and then use the 8 TB hard drives to store files on for a media server which will run plex. I can install Ubuntu onto the ssd drive but that's it. That's the end of what I can do. I can never, not once, actually boot up the ssd drive. It's not even an option and I have no idea why. I have linked to an imgur gallery showing several pictures of my bios configuration, seems I can only attach one image on here through dells site.

Hello,

First of all, Ubuntu aren't verified on PowerEdge R720 so the is no documentation for me to provide you.

It may seems you might face some issue with the drive controllers, as I can see from your RAID controller details, there is no VD containing SSD. I'm unsure if H310 does support RAID0 with 1 drive, but you can try.

Have you downloaded the Ubuntu image from Ubuntu site that contains the R720 drivers as their provided info: https://dell.to/2KgT177

Next is the bootable image that you have created, base on the youtuber's brief video, here how he created: https://dell.to/2XGVA5n with FAT32.

Lastly, try installing on the 2 4TB drives (RAID1) to test the image and hardware capability. Then try narrowing down the issue with SSD.

In one of the screenshot where we have option to select boot drive it is shown ad VD 0 which is VD with HDD. Can you change it to 00:01:00 which is SSD drive and see whether system is booting to ubuntu.
